DEVOTED TO UPGRADING
TAIWAN'S TOY INDUSTRY
Acting as a bridge between its member manufacturers and counterparts
abroad, the Taiwan Toys & Children's Articles Manufacturers Association
(TCMA) was founded in August 1968, and currently has 224 members.
The members elect 15 directors and 3 supervisors to help with the running
of the association and plan ways to expand the scope of services. The
association also has 9 full-time staff to handle general affairs.
Taiwan Toys & Children's Articles Manufactures Association implements
its responsibilities based on the principle it has adhered to since it
launched into a program to assist Taiwan's toy manufacturers and traders
improve their management systems as well as expand their sales networks.
The following is a list of target jobs:
To assist Taiwan toys & children's articles makers and traders to expand
their global sales networks by:
1.Organizing Taiwan toys & children's articles makers and traders to take
part in Hong Kong International Toys and Games Fair and to display their
products in the "Taiwan Pavilion", also to establish the data bank of "Taiwan
Pavilion" in web site; and to publish "Taiwan Toys & Children's Articles
Buyers' Guide" of exhibitors in Hong Kong Toy Fair.
2.Assisting the TAITRA to organize Taiwan toys & children's articles makers
and traders to participate in the International Toy Fair held in Nuremberg,
Germany;
3.Organizing a group of representatives from Taiwan toy companies to attend
the International Toy Fair held in Nuremberg, Germany;
4.Organizing a group of represen-
tatives from Taiwan toy companies to attend the Japan Toy Show held in Japan;
5.Establishing and maintaining the Taiwan web site of Taiwan-made toys (http:
//www.toybase.com.tw);
6.Collecting overseas toy buyers' inquiries and publishing them in "Toy News
Monthly" and the above mentioned web site;
7.Helping Taiwan toys & children's articles makers and traders establish their
own company homepages for use as electronic "product showrooms";
8.Helping Taiwan toys & children's makers and trades establishing B2B E-commerce
web site. (http://www.toys-mall.com.tw)
9.Publishing "Taiwan Toys & Children's Articles Buyers' Guide" every year in
cooperation with iG-Trade Winds ;
10.Collecting overseas buyers' information from important toy fairs all around
the world.
To assist domestic toys & children's articles makers and importers to expand
their local sales networks by:
1.Holding Taiwan Domestic Toys & Children's Articles Fair every year in order
to increase local trading opportunities;
2.Gathering name lists of domestic distributors, wholesalers, retailers and
educational institutions for children;
3.Publishing "Taiwan Domestic Toys & Children's Articles Buyer's Guide";
4.Sponsoring Taiwan domestic toy education training;
To assist Taiwan toys & children's articles companies upgrade their management
by:
1.Helping toy makers establish the Toy Manufacturers Computer System(TMCS);
2.Assisting domestic distributors, wholesalers and retailers establish the Toy
Sales Computer System (TSCS);
3.Holding educational training and seminars for toy companies;
4.Providing information concerning toy safety inspections to assist toy makers
to improve their R&D ability and upgrade product quality;
5.Assisting toy makers to further implement the quality warranty system in order
to obtain international ISO certification.
To offer TCMA's members service by:
1.Helping toys & children's articles companies obtain TCMA membership;
2.Visiting the members and providing assistance required;
3.Holding activities to enhance the friendship between members;
4.Increasing membership of com-
panies involved in R/C toys, model toys, baby articles and sporting toys.
To encourage investment in other countries and promote trading and economic
activities between Taiwan and Mainland China by:
1.Collecting a list of Taiwan's toy & children's article investors in other
countries and publishing it;
2.Holding seminars to discuss investment in other countries as well as the
trading and economic activities between Taiwan and Mainland China;
3.Providing information of the investment in Mainland China.
4.Establishing "Offshore Joint Venture" web site;
To publish various kinds of publications, including:
1.Membership Roster of Taiwan Toys & Children's Articles Manufacturers
Association;
2.Taiwan Toys & Children's Article Buyers' Guide;
3.Toy Internet Weekly (http://www.toy. com.tw);
4.Toy News Monthly;
5.Taiwan Domestic Toys & Children's Articles Buyer's Guide.
To facilitate the membership and international organizations, the TCMA
participates in the ICTI and ACTI groups. The association chairman
attends annual conferences and passes important toy information from
member nations to members of the TCMA.
